Tools: PDF Printer Driver

PDF files are the backbone of wireless, paperless real estate transactions. PDF is Adobe's Portable Document Format. PDF files are ideal for real estate contracts because they can be read by almost everyone using Adobe's free viewer, but they can also be protected to prevent unauthorized modification.

Adobe sells software called Acrobat that can be used to create and edit PDF files, but there are several other ways to create PDF files. One of the easiest ways to create PDF files is by using a PDF printer driver. The PDF printer driver gets installed like a paper printer, but instead of printing your document on paper, the PDF printer driver prints your document to a PDF file. To create a PDF file, select Print from the File menu, select the PDF printer driver, enter a name for your PDF file, and click Save.
